City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Public Invited to a Reception for Retiring City Attorney Scott Peterson

City Attorney Scott Peterson is retiring, and a reception is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, in the City Council Chambers, 1 Quail Creek Circle. The public is invited to attend.

A native Iowan, Peterson graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1984 after serving in US Navy as a helicopter pilot. He joined the Linn County Attorney’s office before moving into private practice. He began as a city attorney, first for Mount Vernon, in 1996, and served in that role for several other municipalities. 

Peterson began serving as North Liberty’s city attorney in 2006 while still in private practice. He joined North Liberty’s staff in July 2011, and was hired full time the following year.

Scott’s plans for retirement include traveling, improving his golf game and visiting his grandchildren.
