New Refuse and Recycling Days Take Effect in July

Beginning in July, new collection dates for trash, recycling, compost and yard waste take effect.

Residents west of Ranshaw Way will have services provided on Tuesdays.
Residents east of Ranshaw Way will have services provided on Wednesdays, including July 4.

Recycling and refuse will only be collected from the new wheeled carts. A single additional trash bag can be collected if placed on top of the bin; this requires a $3 sticker, available at location around North Liberty, including City Hall, 3 Quail Creek Circle.

Households who wish to change their collection option can do so for free before Oct. 1. Requests on or after Oct. 1, 2018 will incur a $25 charge to move to a smaller or less frequent collection option. Moving to a larger or more frequent option will incur a $30 charge. To request a change, simply call City Hall at (319) 626-5700.

Residents are welcome to keep their old trash and recycling bins however, unwanted bins will be collected at the curb based on your address. Containers should be empty and at the curb by 6 a.m. for collection.

  • Customers west of Ranshaw Way (Highway Way 965) will have their bins collected on Friday, July 6, 2018.
  • Customers east of Ranshaw Way (Highway Way 965) will have their bins collected on Monday, July 9, 2018.
