Library to host The Chicken and The Egg

On Thursday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m., the North Liberty Community Library welcomes Doris Montag, a local freelance curator and homespun humorist who will present an exhibit of artifacts from raising chickens in the 1900’s.

One in a series from The History of Ordinary Things, Doris brings to the audience the science, history and stories of incubating chicks, colored eggs, breed differences, egg nutrition and her special passion-the evolution of the egg carton. The collection includes boxes for mailing chicks, feeders, chicken catchers, egg cartons, feeders and many little-known facts.

Join the library for an educational and entertaining hour. Doris promises: “You will have fun!”
