“Bah, humbug!” at the Library

On Friday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m., the North Liberty Community Library will present A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, performed by Ben Carling. Mr. Carling will perform from the original script Dickens used for a public reading in Boston in 1867.  This one-man performance will bring multiple characters from the beloved classic to life.

Ben Carling is an actor with stage and screen credits including guest appearance on Touched by an Angel and Promised Land as well as numerous industrial videos and commercials.  He was Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man for the Peacock Playhouse in Nashua New Hampshire, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady for the Roger’s Memorial Theatre in Bountiful, Utah, and Fagin, in Oliver! He is currently the narrator for Audible.com’s series of Sherlock Holmes books.

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour,” says Dickens. Share in the spirit of the holiday and bring a non-perishable food item or two for the North Liberty Community Food Pantry.
