Recsters Summer Camp - CLICK HERE FOR PROGRAM HANDBOOK
At this summer daycare camp, kids will enjoy games and activities, both inside and outside the Rec Center. All campers must bring their own snacks, lunches and drinks. Use of a refrigerator, microwave or utensils will not be available.

Just for Kix is a program of precision instruction that allows
young people to experience the fun & rewards of dancing
with a team. Emphasis is placed on doing your best rather
than being the best. Dancers build self-esteem, learn about
cooperation, perseverance and team work. All uniform fees
to be announced.

Just For Kix – Wee Petites
Wee Petites will learn novelty, kick and pom routines.
Ages: K-1st grades
Session: September 4-April 2008

Ballet - Kids have the opportunity to dance ballet/jazz and
tap in one fun class! Participants will discover the joy of dance
while learning basic steps and combinations. Recommended
shoes and attire: leotard, tights, ballet slippers, tap dance
shoes. All available at local discount stores.

Create-a-Comic
Do you love to read or collect comics? If so, this class is for
you. Recreation & Library staff (Jason & Andrew) will team up
and lead this class. Comic book discussion with the production
of our own comic strip to run in the North Liberty Leader!

Family Fun Theatre Workshop
Spend a few hours as a family having fun while learning some
basic acting and improvisation techniques. You’ll participate
in theatre games to experience how actors use their voice
and body movements to create characters that tell a story.

American Red Cross Babysitter Training
This class gives the knowledge and resources needed to
become a great babysitter. The course content covers six
primary areas. This training includes a handbook with CDROM
and Emergency Reference Guide.
Ages: Recommended age is 11 years and older; but students
younger will be allowed to participate.

Create-A-Play: Theatre Workshop
Basic acting techniques will be taught and students will
learn how to use their imagination, voice and body to create
characters that can then tell a story. Students will develop
some of their favorite stories into plays that will be shared with
family and friends during the last 30 minutes of the workshop
on Friday. Instructor: Kathleen Hession.
Ages: Students completing grades K-6.

Fish North Liberty
Come learn to enjoy the outdoors right here in North Liberty!
Johnson County Naturalist Brad Friedhof will lead this
educational course on fishing. Fishing skills will be taught at
select ponds in town. This course will meet a the North Liberty
Community Center and commute to local ponds.
Ages: Grades 5-8

Fee: $15.00 per person

Fishing Pole Rental
Hey, let’s go fishing! Rods and reels will be available to rent at
the North Liberty Community Center during regular business
hours this summer. Valid ID and $20 deposit required to rent
equipment. If all equipment is returned in the same shape as
it was rented, the deposit will be refunded.
Ages: 12 years and older
Rental Times: Mon-Fri; 6AM-8:30PM. Sat/Sun 8AM-5:30PM
Fee: $20 refundable deposit if equipment is returned
unbroken; $7.50 replacement fee for rod, $10.00 replacement
fee for reel.

Kindergarten Tennis Program - New!
Classes begin with the basic fundamentals such as how to hold
a racket, scoring terminology and ground strokes. Participants
must provide their own rackets. Grades are determined by the
grade just completed.

Join us for a two hour ride on the first Sunday of each month
around the Iowa City/Coralville area. Be sure to pack a lunch.
