Mediacom*
The following information applies to Mediacom subscribers in the North Liberty, Iowa, City Limits only. Payment Drop Box Locations
There are two Mediacom payment drop location in North Liberty: one outside City Hall (5 E. Cherry St., the red box, water bill payments go into the green drop box), the other is located inside Casey's General Store, on the southwest corner of Highway 965 and Zeller Street. You may also pay your Mediacom bill in person at the Iowa City Office: 702 S. Gilbert St. in Kennedy Plaza. Payments are picked up from the boxes three times per week, so it is a good idea to drop payment a few days before it is due, much as you would if you mailed your payment.
No Equipment Pickup Fee for North Liberty
Subscribers in the North Liberty City Limits will not be charged a $9.99 equipment pickup fee if they decide to return a digital converter, remote control or other equipment. Because there is no office in North Liberty where subscribers can drop this equipment off themselves, Mediacom is required to send a technician to pick up equipment free of charge. Subscribers can also return equipment to Mediacom's Iowa City office. This $9.99 pickup fee, which does not apply to North Liberty residents, is different from the "downgrade fee" that Mediacom charges if they are required to send a technician out when you change service to Broadcast Basic. North Liberty subscribers are subject to this "downgrade fee", like other area subscribers.
Digital Cable Required?
In order to receive HBO or other premium channels, the Mediacom subscriber is required to rent a digital converter box and remote control, but it is not required that the subscriber purchase other digital tiers of service unless they so desire. Mediacom does allow subscribers to purchase Broadcast Basic analog service (channels 2-22) and still subscribe to premium movie channels. There are several ways you can purchase digital movie channels, depending on if you wish to include rental of the digital converter, remote control, pay-per-view access and interactive menu features.
Filing a complaint against your cable provider
Residents who have contacted their cable provider regarding a service or billing issue who feel they have not reached reasonable resolution may file a complaint with the City. Documented complaints are brought before the Telecommunications Commission, where a cable provider representative will be present to address such issues. Complaints may be brought to the Telecommunications Commission at any regular meeting during the Public Comment portion of the meeting.

North Liberty monitors Mediacom's conduct in the City based on terms of the mutually-adopted Franchise Agreement.
