Profile of the North
Liberty Community:
History
When the early settlers built their homes along a
fertile wooded valley of the Iowa River, the area was called Squash Bend, Big
Bend and later North Bend. It wasn't until 1913 that the town was incorporated
as North Liberty. Historically known as a "bedroom" community, North Liberty
became a progressive, "full-service" community during the 1990s. We now offer
residents options for local employment, medical and professional services,
restaurants, grocery stores, parks, a community and recreation center, library
and senior citizen facilities.
