City of North Liberty Commissions

Call for Volunteers: North Liberty Planning Commission

The City of North Liberty is currently accepting applications from citizens of North Liberty to serve on the North Liberty Planning Commission. This high-profile, volunteer public service position requires a commitment to attend the Commission meetings currently scheduled for the first Tuesday evening of each month and other meetings as needed. Commission members review plans related to development and redevelopment, and make recommendations to the City Council and Board of Adjustment. The appointment to the North Liberty Planning Commission is available immediately.

Some meetings can be contentious and Commission members sometimes are asked to reach consensus on difficult issues. Reading and becoming familiar with the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Subdivision Ordinance is also an important part of successfully serving in this position.

For more information, please contact Dean Wheatley, City Planner, at 626-5747.

You can download a Board or Commission Application (in .pdf format) by clicking here. Or go to City Hall to pick up an application. See below for descriptions of each of the volunteer boards and links to their respective pages.
